CHOWLUR AQUA FARMS LIMITED is a company incorporated under the companies Act, 1956 on 16th August, 1994 with the main objective of establishing, running and maintaining Aqua Farms, Shrimp Farms, Aqua Culture, fish farming, prawn hatcheries and to carry on export trading of Marine Products.

Shrimp farming has changed from its traditional, small-scale form in Southeast Asia into a global industry. Technological advances have led to ever higher densities per unit area, and broodstock is shipped worldwide.

Our Product:-

The main product of shrimp farming is of Penaues Monodon, commonly known as TIGER PRAWN. The species P. Monodon belongs to Zoological invertebrate class, Crustacea. Healthy full grown TIGER PRAWN weighing around 30 to 40 grams and has a valuable nutrient content of glycogen and free amino acids. The species is also rich in Vitamin A & D. This as a food is widely desired for its value and cholesterol free.

Location:-

The farm of the company is located at Kattur Village, Ponneri Talukk, Chengai MGR District in Tamil Nadu, which is only 35 Kms away from the main CHENNAI CITY LIMITS. The land is ideally situated satisfying the required criteria for Aqua Culture like proximity to estuaries, soil composition, salinity fluctuations and other parameters. The copy of the test report is available as annexure. Total land area is 50 hectares and water spread area is 20 hectares.

Shrimp Culture:-

SINCE the time farming operations began the first year itself two crops have been raised and harvested, one from May to August and the second from September to February 98. The quantum yield achieved was @ of 2500Kgs/per crop/per hectare
